Thompson Square is still in the studio working on the follow up to their self-titled debut project. They hope to have it finished by Thanksgiving for a spring 2013 release, and the duo’s Shawna Thompson says, “It’s just kind of like a 2.0 version of Thompson Square.”

That Thompson Square upgrade involves some creative branching out thanks input from radio programmers and fans alike.

Shawna’s husband and duo partner Keifer Thompson says, “We wanted to say something a little bit different on this album being that it’s a little bit more diverse.”

Fans are getting a first taste of Thompson Square 2.0 with their new single, “If I Didn’t Have You.”  It’s climbing the country chart steadily, and Keifer says he and Shawna are “just really, really happy about it.”

Thompson Square will take the holiday season off the road before taking their spot on Luke Bryan‘s Dirt Road Diaries tour starting January 17 in Evansville, IN.
