George Jones will play his final Music City concert on November 22 of next year as part of his farewell series of shows, called The Grand Tour. Tanya Tucker will open for the country icon at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena, with more special guests to be announced later.
“The Possum” kicked off the tour Friday in Branson, Missouri, with 60 more dates set through the end of 2013. Right now, the Nashville concert is the final show that’s been scheduled on the tour. Tickets go on sale this Friday through Ticketmaster.
After more than fifty years of touring, the 80-year-old Country Music Hall of Famer announced the final run of shows, saying he plans to spend more time with his wife Nancy and his family. You can check out the entire list of dates at GeorgeJones.com.
