(NEW YORK) — Anger is building on New York’s Long Island where thousands of residents are still without power 10 days after Hurricane Sandy hit.
Some residents have been told it will be Thanksgiving before they are out of the dark.
A report in Newsday says the Long Island Power Authority ignored warnings as far back as 2006, and that it was not prepared to handle a major storm.
One county official is calling for the military to take over restoring power.
