Darius Rucker‘s third country album, True Believers, is coming out January 22, 2013 featuring the title cut as the first single.  He really took his time making the new project with an eye towards continuing his run of country hits.

Darius performed the new album in its entirety for invited guests at the Country Music Hall of Fame in Nashville on Tuesday. He told the audience, “I’m really proud of this record.  There’s a lot of great songs on the radio.  I’m just trying to get my slot.”

During the performance, Darius also revealed the inspiration behind the song “True Believers” is his wife Beth.  He told the music industry-heavy crowd that country music wouldn’t have accepted the guy he was before he married her saying, “I didn’t stop partying because I wanted to stop partying. I stopped partying because I wanted to be married to Beth Rucker.”

True Believers will be Darius’s first album release since becoming a member of the Grand Ole Opry earlier this month.
