It’s widely known that Taylor Swift‘s love life has inspired many of her hit songs, like “Dear John” and “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together,” and much tabloid ink has been spent trying to link which ex to which song. Now, it seems David Letterman wants in.
No, the Late Show host isn’t looking to hook-up with the the singer — he just wants to be part of a Taylor Swift song. Dave told Taylor as much during her appearance Tuesday on The Late Show with David Letterman.
“I would like it to happen, so people [would say] ‘Oh…you know the old guy she’s talking about? That’s Dave,'” Letterman said.
Swift joked to Letterman, “Well, I appreciate you wanting this to happen…Because you’d be surprised the angry emails I get,”referring to the less-than-kind feedback some of her exes have leveled at her after they’ve apparently become one of her song subjects.
Taylor also performed the title track from her new album, Red.
