Taylor Swift is sharing the spotlight with the race for the White House this week as she releases her new album, Red. Though she’s making multiple media appearances, you won’t find her chatting about Obama or Romney though.

Taylor says of the presidential election, “I follow it, and I try to keep myself as educated and informed as possible. But I don’t talk about politics because it might influence other people.”

The 22-year-old adds, “I don’t think that I know enough yet in life to be telling people who to vote for.”

Taylor is glad to talk about her new album, Red, though. It came out Monday and has topped the iTunes chart in more than 30 countries already. Look for Taylor on ABC’s The View Wednesday and The Ellen DeGeneres Show Thursday. On Friday, Taylor’s a guest on ABC’s Katie with Katie Couric, and she’s also featured on ABC’s All Access Nashville with Katie Couric Friday night at 9 p.m. ET.
