Rascal Flatts‘ set list is pretty tight on their Changed tour, but they’ve been shaking things up a bit by taking requests from the audience. Group member Jay DeMarcus tells The Tennessean that while doing so creates a special moment during the show, their backup band didn’t love the idea at first.
As Jay explains, “Our band ended up hating us in rehearsals because we handed them a list of 30 to 40 songs that we never would have worked up otherwise, that we had them brush up on.”
Some of the fans’ requests for old Rascal Flatts songs have stumped Jay and his fellow group members Joe Don Rooney and Gary LeVox.
“We’ve certainly had the moments where we looked at each other and were like, ‘Ahhh, I don’t remember that. Do you?’” Jay says.
Rascal Flatts wraps up the fall leg of their Changed tour October 27 in West Palm Beach, FL. They launch the winter leg January 10, 2013 in Green Bay, WI with special guests The Band Perry.
