Taylor Swift is coming through in a big way for the Horace Mann School for the Deaf in Allston, MA.
You may recall that pranksters on the 4chan and Reddit websites organized an effort in August for the school to be awarded a concert on campus from Taylor as part of an online contest sponsored by Papa John’s and Chegg. The sponsors decided to eliminate Horace Mann from the contest because of the way the school got the votes.
That’s not the end of the story though. According to The Boston Globe, Taylor is donating $10,000 to the school, and Papa John’s and Chegg are each kicking in that same amount. CoverGirl and American Greetings are each donating $10,000 too, and VH1’s Save the Music campaign is donating $10,000 in instruments for the students at Horace Mann. To top it off, Taylor is giving every student at Horace Mann a ticket to her next show in the area.
Horace Mann’s headmaster Jeremiah Ford says, “Are we the winner? Absolutely.”
