Rascal Flatts got their star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame Monday. Fans can stop by and see it at 6664 Hollywood Boulevard. Group members Jay DeMarcus, Gary LeVox and Joe Don Rooney were all hand to accept the honor, and Jay noted how far they’ve come in the 13 years since Rascal Flatts started out.
“Who would have thought 13 years ago when we played in a little barroom in Nashville, Tennessee, that we’d come from the barroom to the Walk of Fame,” Jay said. “It just boggles your mind completely.”
Joe Don thanked his parents for encouraging him to pursue his dreams of musical stardom.
He says, “Growing up in Picher, Oklahoma, it’s kind of the middle of nowhere, but we always made it somewhere important. And growing up in a small town, you dream big, and they taught me that you have to dream big.”
Rascal Flatts followed up their Walk of Fame ceremony with a performance on NBC’s Tonight Show with Jay Leno Monday night.
