Dierks Bentley visited P.S. 103 The Hector Fontanez in The Bronx Thursday to speak to students about the importance of music in education. The CMA Foundation also donated $20,000 to the school to provide music instruments and supplies for their music program. The money was raised through the CMA Keep the Music Playing initiative, which has donated millions of dollars to schools in Nashville.
Dierks says of the CMA’s donation, “They’ve made a huge dent in the music needs in Nashville, so it was really cool to help expand their mission to one of country music’s top markets like New York City.”
After his visit, Dierks performed at Joe’s Pub in New York City as part of the CMA Songwriters Series.
