Little Big Town is so excited about the songs from their new CD, Tornado, they couldn’t wait to sing them on the road.
Kimberly Schlapman confesses that wasn’t originally the plan. “When we did the record, we were like, ‘We’re gonna hold the songs ’til the record comes out ’cause we’re gonna make it mysterious. Nobody’s gonna hear it ’til it comes out,’ and we couldn’t wait,” she says.
In a 45-minute set, Jimi Westbrook says the band would perform six of the new songs, which is more than half their set.
“We’re really asking the crowd to stretch with us and listen to these new songs,” Phillip Sweet adds. “They’re riding the ride with us, and it’s great. I can’t wait for them to hear the whole record.”
The wait for Tornado officially ends this Tuesday, as the album featuring their hit “Pontoon” floats into the marketplace.
