Little Big Town scores the first #1 hit of their career on Billboard‘s Country Songs chart this week with “Pontoon,” but group member Karen Fairchild has been celebrating the achievement for about two weeks now.  She’s been sporting a fabulous, new, high-end bag to mark the occasion, and her band mate Kimberly Schlapman points out, “You bought it when [‘Pontoon’] was #3.”

Karen calls it “positive shopping” and says, “There was only one left in the store, and I felt like it deserved a home.”

In all seriousness, Little Big Town is so excited to have their first #1 hit with “Pontoon.”

“I can’t tell you just the way everyone’s just latched on to this crazy motorboatin’ song,” Karen says, “and we could not be happier.”

Little Big Town hopes to make many more trips to the #1 spot.  “Pontoon” is the lead single from their new album, Tornado, coming out Tuesday, September 11.
