To quote one of Taylor Swift‘s hit songs, “Why ya gotta be so mean?”

Some Internet pranksters are working to send Taylor to a school for the deaf for an upcoming concert as part of her new contest. Taylor has partnered with online student hub Chegg and Papa John’s pizza to for the sweepstakes, with the winning high school or college campus hosting her VH1 Storytellers concert.

According to Gawker.com, 4Chan, Reddit and other Internet sites that are the favorites of online pranksters are pushing votes for the Horace Mann School for the Deaf in Allston, MA to host the concert. So far, the school is thousands of votes ahead of the next school.

These same groups banded together late last month to send singer/rapper Pitbull to a Walmart store in a remote part of Alaska as part of a similar fan-voted promotion for Sheets Energy Strips.

The official rules of Taylor’s contest say she reserves the right to opt out of the performance. The top five vote-getting schools will also get a $10,000 grant for their music program.  Voting is now underway through September 23 at TaylorSwiftonCampus.com.
