Eric Church got an incredible gift direct from his musical hero Bruce Springsteen at a recent show. Bruce’s assistant and road manager Wayne LeBeaux attended Eric’s August 19 concert in New Hampshire and gave Eric a signed set list from one of Bruce’s recent shows at Fenway Park in Boston. The set list included a personal note from Bruce to Eric on the back.
Of course, Eric scored a #1 country hit with the song “Springsteen,” and he had heard through other people that Bruce was a fan of the song that bore his name. When Bruce found out his assistant was going to see Eric, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame member initiated direct contact.
Eric tells Billboard, “[Springsteen] took out a set list and wrote me a great note, filled up the whole back of the set list talking about how he was a fan of the song, how his family was a fan of the song. He signed it and said ‘I hope we cross paths somewhere’ and told [LeBeaux], ‘Make sure you deliver this to Eric.'”
Eric says getting that note from Bruce means the world to him, and he’s currently got the note locked up in a safe place.
