Willie Nelson missed a scheduled appearance at a fundraiser outside of Denver on Saturday, and was hospitalized due to what was described as “breathing problems.”
According to Denver’s KUSA-TV, the crowd at the Castle Pines Village fundraiser was told that the 79-year-old Nelson was “suffering from breathing problems due to the high altitude and emphysema” and had been taken to a hospital. There was no update on Nelson’s condition as of Sunday night.
The fundraiser was for the animal sheltering organization Dumb Friends League.
