(LaPLACE, La.) — An apparent shootout in Louisiana Thursday has left two sheriff’s deputies dead and two others injured.
The Times-Picayune reports the shooting happened at a remote parking lot for a refinery in LaPlace around 5 a.m. The deputies belonged to St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office.
One suspect is believed to have been caught while another is still on the loose, the newspaper notes, citing unofficial reports.
