(COLLEGE STATION, Texas) — Officials at Texas A&M University say police took a suspect into custody near the school’s campus Monday following a shooting incident, ABC affiliate WFAA-TV reports.
Multiple people were reportedly injured, but details were not immediately clear.
The university’s emergency website issued a “Code Maroon” alert at approximately 12:29 p.m., warning students and staff to avoid the 200 block of Fidelity Drive. Several minutes later, school officials say a shooter was taken into custody.
Police say the suspect was firing shots from a residence near the school’s campus.
