Dierks Bentley has lined up Sheryl Crow, Chris Young, Brantley Gilbert and more to perform at his Miles & Music event in Nashville on Sunday, October 14. Things get underway with a motorcycle ride starting at Harley-Davidson of Columbia, TN and ending up at Nashville’s Riverfront Park. That’s where the “jam-style” concert will take place that evening.
Dierks has helped Miles & Music Events in seven U.S. cities since 2006, and they’ve raised more than $2 million for Children’s Network Hospitals around the country. The money raised from Dierks’s Nashville Miles & Music goes to the Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt University.
“We’ve had the chance to help a lot of communities across the country, but the heart and soul of this event is in downtown Nashville with Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt and the artists and friends who come out and help us raise money,” Dierks says. “It’s my favorite thing we do all year.”
These Miles & Music events are an extension of Dierks’ love for motorcycles. He takes one on tour with him and often goes straight from his tour bus to his motorcycle when they get to their concert venues.
“It’s funny. You’re on the road, then you get off the road and the first thing I want to do is get on a motorcycle and go back out on the road,” Dierks says. “But it’s just a totally different feeling to be like a few feet off the asphalt and be all alone. It’s kind of a modern-day version of being an outlaw on a horse. You’re on a motorcycle, you’re alone and all you’ve got with you is the bare necessities.”
