A host of big names are contributing music to a very special musical charity project. A Very Special Christmas 25th Anniversary, an album hitting stores October 16, will feature songs from Rascal Flatts, The Band Perry and Vince Gill. Christina Aguilera, Train and Michael Buble are also contributing songs to the project.
The album is the latest in an ongoing series of holiday albums that started in 1987. Since then, the seven albums in the the series have generated more than $100 million in royalties to benefit Special Olympics, making it the single most successful benefit recording series in musical history.
Over the years, music’s biggest stars have contributed songs to the Very Special Christmas albums, including U2, Bruce Springsteen, Madonna, Sheryl Crow, Sting, Colbie Caillat, Carrie Underwood, Miley Cyrus, No Doubt, Eric Clapton, Stevie Nicks, Bryan Adams, Mary J. Blige and others.
