Taylor Swift fans will surely remember the song “Hey Stephen,” from her blockbuster 2008 album, Fearless.  What  you may not know is that it was inspired by Love and Theft‘s Stephen Barker Liles. The two acts were on the road together the summer before that album dropped, and the sparks that flew between Taylor and Stephen inspired him to write a song, titled”Try to Make It Anyway.”

Stephen released a video of the song on YouTube last year, though it didn’t make the band’s second album disappointing many Love and Theft fans.

Stephen tells TheBoot.com, “It’s not really the direction we were going for with this album, but I wanted people to have it. So my buddy was cool to let me come and make a little video.”

Stephen says the album could end up on a future Love and Theft album. In the meantime, Love and Theft’s hit “Angel Eyes” is included on their self-titled new album, in stores now.
