SANFORD–According to Superintendent Jeff Moss, Lee County had an 84% graduation rate last year, which was a fairly uncommon result not only in North Carolina but around the country, as well. Board chairman Lynn Smith said  but even more than the minority success, the county’s most notable improvement over recent years, might be the amount of disabled students who are graduating, which this year was 75%.
