SANFORD–For the second time this summer, school buses have been burned and destroyed. Three Lee County school buses were vandalized and a county-owned car was ignited and destroyed Sunday. Captain David Smith of the police department said several windows were smashed with bricks, a stop sign attached to a bus was damaged along with two front mirrors, and a dodge passenger car was ignited and destroyed early Sunday morning at Southern Lee High School.
