PITTSBORO–The Pittsboro Town Board voted recently to apply for participation in a state program to promote the town as a retirement destination. According to reports from the Chatham News, the North Carolina Certified Retirement Community Program was developed by the North Carolina Department of Commerce. It’s objective is to encourage retirees and those planning to retire, the opportunity to make North Carolina their home and promote the state as a retirement designation.
