SANFORD–Schools are closed for the summer, but the central office is as busy as ever. One of the top jobs for school officials during the summer months is making sure all slots are filled before the new year begins. 26 new employees have been hired, and many more hiring decisions have to be made. According to Superintendent Jeff Moss, there are still nearly 50 vacancies. School systems around the state are working hard to fill teaching slots before the year begins next month.
