SANFORD–Ten of the 13 Southern Lee students barred from graduation exercises Thursday evening because of suspension for a senior prank, participated in a ceremony on the lawn at Mrs. Lacey’s on Carthage Street.  Rev. George Akers, pastor of First Apostolic Church, delivered the message and called the names of the graduates while presenting them a certificate.  According to NBC 17 news, the student who actually initiated the prank at Lee County High School, did not participate, along with two others.  A reporter from NBC 17 said he was barred from attending graduation exercises at Southern Lee.  He said he was told that he didn’t give enough notice.  Graduation will be held at Lee County High School at 7 PM Friday, June 8.
