President Barack Obama and presumptive Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney will appear in the opening segment of Wednesday night’s CMT Music Awards.

The comedy bit marks the second time presidential candidates have appeared on the CMT Music awards. Back in 2008, Republican nominee John McCain and then-Democratic candidates Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama also taped appearances for the show.

The 2012 CMT Music Awards kick off Wednesday night at 8:00 ET on CMT and CMT.com. Toby Keith and Kristen Bell serve as co-hosts.
