SANFORD–The budget that the North Carolina House passed on May 30, would provide $1,120,493 less for schools in Lee County as compared to the budget recommendation that Governor Perdue unveiled a few weeks ago. The governor said Monday that “investing in education is one of the most important things we can do to create jobs. I want to make sure we prepare our children so they’re able to compete for high-paying, 21st century jobs-and that means investing resources in our schools.”
