Grammy-winning guitar master Doc Watson is listed in critical condition at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center after falling in his home in Deep Gap, North Carolina earlier this week, the Winston-Salem Journal reports.
The 89-year-old Watson, whose first name is Arthel, is considered a master of the flatpicking style of guitar playing, and an influence for thousands of musicians. His style includes bluegrass, folk, country, blues and gospel music.
