SANFORD–Lee County residents desiring to voice their opinion about the proposed budget for the new fiscal year will have the opportunity Monday evening during a public hearing in the Commissioners meeting room of the government center.  County Manager John Crumpton has proposed a $63.1 million budget that keeps the current tax rate of 75 cents per $100 in property valuation.  In the proposed budget, Lee County schools get $15.84 million, or about 27.7%, for current expenses.  Central Carolina Community College would get $2.32 million, or about 4.1%.  The proposal also includes a 3 percent raise for employees.  The hearing is scheduled for 6 PM.
