Tim McGraw writes new songs for every album he makes, but his compositions don’t often make the final cut. He’s also not one of the writers who sits down every day to make up new songs either.
Tim tells American Songwriter, “I might write a song every couple of months and write a good one every couple of years, maybe. It has to come to me in an inspired way.”
Though Tim usually goes with other writers’ songs for his albums, he plans to continue writing. “One of these days it would be fun to go back and pick my favorites of things that I’ve written that never made an album, and do an album of that,” Tim says.
In the mean time, Tim is gearing up for his Brothers in the Sun tour with Kenny Chesney, launching June 2 in Tampa, FL.
