Carrie Underwood is on track to score her third #1 on the Billboard 200 next week when Blown Away bows on the chart. According to Billboard, the album is expected to sell about 275,000 copies in its first week. That’s less than Carrie’s previous albums have done, but this is her first release outside of the busy lead up to the holiday season. Consumers shopping for holiday gifts give a considerable boost to album sales in that period.
Carrie previously debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200 with Play On in 2009 and Carnival Ride in 2007. Her biggest selling album to date is her debut, Some Hearts, which has sold more than seven million copies in the U.S. alone.
