Seems like every week, some movie studio announces that they’re remaking some classic movie of the past. In the case of a certain beloved 1978 film, that movie’s original star says Taylor Swift should play her part.
Appearing on CNN’s Showbiz Tonight, Olivia Newton-John, iconic singer, actress and star of the movie musical Grease, was asked what she would think if a studio announced plans to reboot the film. She replied, “I’m sure they’ll try [a remake], and I think it would probably do well because people would be curious. But there’s something about the originals…that people still want to see.”
When asked who could play her role of Sandy, the virginal high school student who turns bad girl for her man Danny, played by John Travolta, Newton-John replied, “Lately, I’ve thought Taylor Swift could probably [play Sandy], because she’s very talented.” Taylor would have some big competition for the role, however, because Newton-John also thinks her daughter Chloe could handle the job.
