SANFORD–Reports from Elections director Nancy Kimball indicate that early voting leading up to the May Primary has surged locally, and across the Cape Fear region, poll workers say that voting locations are extremely busy. Some voters believe the controversial marriage amendment is causing the surge. The two local sites will continue early voting until 1 pm Saturday, May 5. Registered voters may cast ballots from 8 AM to 5 PM Monday through Friday.
