With five #1’s in a row, Chris Young feels like one lucky guy.
He believes “lady luck” must have been smiling on him when he recorded the song that could be his sixth number one — or else he thinks one of his heroes probably would’ve ended up with “Neon.”
“Honestly, I’m surprised George Strait didn’t cut this first,” he says. “I really am. I think — and I’ve said that — I think this is a song that, you know, if he’d got a hold of, he would’ve cut it. And it’s one of the reasons I love it so much. It’s just dirt country.”
Chris says he also loves the song’s reference to Johnny Lee, who hit the top of the charts in the eighties with songs like “Lookin’ for Love,” “One in a Million” and “Bet Your Heart on Me.”
