Carrie Underwood is the lead nominee for the 2012 CMT Music Awards with five nods. Miranda Lambert follows with four nominations split evenly between her solo work and her role as a member of Pistol Annies.

Jason Aldean, Lady Antebellum, Rascal Flatts, Blake Shelton, Taylor Swift and Thompson Square each have three nominations.

Little Big Town announced the 2012 CMT Music Awards nominees Monday morning on NBC’s Today show.

The awards will be handed out live on CMT and CMT.com on June 6 from Nashville. Fan voting is now open through June 4 at CMT.com.

Of note, the final five finalists for Video of the Year will be announced at the top of the June 6 broadcast. Fans will be able to vote for the winner throughout the show.
