This year, CMA Music Festival honors a trio of country legends, by having them kick off the nightly concerts at Nashville’s LP Field.

Glen Campbell, who’s currently touring to support his final album, Ghost on the Canvas, will start the first show Thursday evening.  The “Rhinestone Cowboy” kicked off his Goodbye Tour last year, after announcing he suffers from Alzheimer’s disease.

Ronnie Milsap, who last played CMA Music Festival in 2006, will start the Friday show, while Kenny Rogers is up first on Saturday.  The Country Music Hall of Fame is currently honoring “The Gambler” as its 2012 Artist in Residence.

Two-time CMA Vocal Group of the Year The Mavericks will open on Sunday. The platinum-selling band recently signed with The Valory Music Company and is working on a new CD.

CMA Music Festival takes place June 7 – 10 in downtown Nashville.
