Ten years after his death, fans will finally be able to hear the last recordings of Waylon Jennings, on an album called Goin’ Down Rockin’.
The late country music legend wrote eleven of the twelve songs on the discs; the original tracks were recorded simply, with just Waylon’s guitar and vocal, accompanied by longtime bassist Robby Turner.
Before his death, Waylon mapped out with Turner how the songs were to be finished, and the bass player recently completed the task. Waylon’s widow, singer Jessi Colter, says she believes fans will be able to feel Waylon’s “authenticity” in the recordings.
Goin’ Down Rockin': The Last Recordings of Waylon Jennings comes out September 11 on Saguaro Road Records.
