Lauren Alaina has signed on as an ambassador for the Special Olympics to help raise awareness of their efforts on behalf of people with intellectual disabilities. It’s not a new thing for Lauren, who’s been involved with the Special Olympics for several years now in her north Georgia hometown.
Lauren says, “There is nothing that makes me happier or inspires me more than spending time with the athletes.” She also knows what it’s like to have a lot of support, from her days getting fan votes on American Idol. “Now, it is my turn to support [the Special Olympics] and help bring awareness to this wonderful organization,” she says.
