Alan Jackson will perform a benefit concert in tiny Mineral, VA on Sunday, May 20 to help rebuilding the town’s Louisa County High School. More specifically, the money raised will be earmarked for rebuilding the school’s theater. The entire school has been condemned due to damage from a rare East Coast earthquake that hit last August. Mineral was the epicenter.
The location of this concert was determined through a national vote to decide which town would receive an Alan Jackson concert. Even though there are only 490 people in the town, Mineral received more than 31,000 votes.
Tickets for the concert are now on sale at Ticketfly.com.
The Alan Jackson Charity Golf Classic is also set for Saturday, May 19 at The Royal Virginian Golf Course. Proceeds from that event and the concert will benefit the local high school through the Louisa Education Foundation.
