Martina McBride, Rascal Flatts, The Band Perry and Reba are among the stars taking part in the Outnumber Hunger campaign in partnership with Feeding America and General Mills.
Fans can purchase specially marked packages of General Mills products and enter the code from that package at OutnumberHunger.com. After they’ve done that, 10 meals will then be provided to one of their local food banks. They’ll also get a free song download from either the Flatts, Justin Moore or a number of other artists on the Big Machine Label Group.
Rascal Flatts signed on to be a part of the campaign very quickly. Lead singer, Gary LeVox says, “When we first heard the astonishing numbers of how many Americans were in need and on the verge of going hungry – you know, 17 million people in our own backyard – we just knew we wanted to do whatever we could to help put a dent in that number.”
Martina echoes those thoughts saying, “Just take the extra step to put the code in and 10 meals get delivered to your local food bank, and it’s just so easy.”
The campaign was launched at a press conference in Las Vegas Friday afternoon.
