SANFORD–An accident involving an 18 wheeler and a car Thursday morning resulted in  apparently serious injuries to at least one person.  The accident occurred around 6:20 AM at U.S. 421 and Swann Station Road.  A bystander told WWGP news that at least one person was pinned in.  The accident resulted in a second accident and the road was blocked and traffic rerouted.  A landing zone was set up and at least one patient was airlifted to an area hospital.  Numerous rescue and emergency vehicles were on the scene.
