Fan voting is underway to determine this year’s ACM New Artist of the Year winner at VoteACM.com.  Scotty McCreery is nominated along with Brantley Gilbert and Hunter Hayes.  Scotty actually found out about the nomination through Twitter.

“I find out everything through Twitter. My fans know stuff before I know stuff,” Scotty tells ABC News Radio.  “They started tweeting, you know, congrats and stuff, and I said, ‘On what?’  And you know, they were telling me, and I was blown away.”

Scotty’s honored to share the category with fellow nominees Brantley and Hunter.  He says, “They’re two very, very great musicians.  Very great artists.  So, no matter what happens, I’m just excited to be there with ’em.” (SCOTTY MCCREERY AUDIO IS EXCLUSIVE)

Brantley was on his way to play a show when he got the new about his ACM nomination from his manager.  He says, “I was on my tour bus headed out of town.  I don’t remember where we were going to, but it was some pretty good news to say the least.”

Hunter is still emotional about getting his ACM New Artist nomination so soon after scoring a hit with “Storm Warning.”  “It was unbelievable just to be, just to think that I was considered for a category like this,” Hunter explains.

Fan voting continues for ACM New Artist of the Year right up until show time.  The 47th Annual ACM Awards broadcast live from Las Vegas on CBS Sunday, April 1 at 8 p.m. Eastern time.
