Jason Aldean‘s new video for his latest single, “Fly Over States,” premieres Friday on CMT, but the song itself has been on Jason’s radar four more than four years now. He actually considered putting it on his last album, Wide Open, but it didn’t make the cut that time around.
“It wasn’t because I didn’t like it,” Jason explains. “It was one of those songs that even after that album came out, I still found myself in my car still listening to the demo of that song.”
Once he put it on his latest project, My Kinda Party, Jason made sure “Fly Over States” was chosen as a single. The song reminds him of where he grew up in Georgia and also gives attention to some often overlooked people.
Jason says, “I think it kind of just sheds some light on farming and things like that that I think a lot of people kind of don’t give those guys enough credit for what it is they do.”
The video for “Fly Over States” premieres Friday as part of a 30-minute special on CMT. It repeats throughout the day.
