SANFORD–Places like Christian United Outreach Mission, United Way, Salvation Army, SLIDER, etc. are feeding, clothing, and offering guidance to people of all walks of life in Lee County.  Blandonia Presbyterian Church also operates a free clothing and household mission, and now, another church has joined the call for help.  Jones Chapel United Methodist Church located at the corner of Old U.S. 1 and Jones Chapel Road will be operating a Children’s Closet, providing gently used clothing, toys, books and baby items to the community.  The project is designed for babies, toddlers and pre-k.  It will operate every third Saturday from 1-2 P.M. and by appointment at other times.  The closet will operate Saturday, March 18.  Donations are also being accepted.  Interested persons may call 919-599-8336.  Help agency heads in Sanford and Lee County say much help is needed.  Teresa Dew Kelly, Director of CUOC said the need is so great that the agency is hard pressed to have enough food to fill boxes each week.
