SANFORD–Data released Monday from the NC Budget and Tax Center, show Lee County’s poverty rate higher than the rates in Chatham, Moore or Harnett counties. The current rate is 18.6%, while the rates in the other three counties range from 14.2% to 16.7%. However, Lee County’s graduation rate is much higher than the others at 80.4%, compared with rates ranging from 72.3% to 74.3%. The NC Budget and Tax Center released the Economic Snapshot of all 100 counties to provide key economic and social indicators at the county level in the state, providing an overall picture of economic vitality and opportunity for North Carolinians.
