CARTHAGE–There will be back-to-back U.S. Opens in Moore County, and officials are confident that the work on widening N.C . 211 will be completed. According to The Pilot, the project, which consists of turning a nearly eight-mile stretch of N.C. 211 from West End to Pinehurst from two lanes to a four-lane divided highway, is scheduled for completion in May 2014. Wilson-based S. T. Wooten corporation is the lead contractor for the project. A section of U. S. One from Lee County to Moore County was completed just in time time for the last Open.
