Everyone is safe following a Tuesday night fire that destroyed Jerrod Niemann‘s bus in Chattanooga, TN. He was actually on the bus with his father, uncle, and pal Lee Brice when the fire broke out. Jerrod and his crew were evacuated before an explosion engulfed the entire bus and blew out the front window.

Jerrod thanks God the bus wasn’t moving when the fire erupted. He tells Chattanooga TV station WRCB, “If we were on the road driving we would’ve never smelt it. The smell would’ve been going down the road. It would’ve lit up. I would’ve been in the back room.” He adds, “We’re so, so thankful.”

The fire hit close to home for Lee Brice, too. His bus went up in flames just six weeks ago before a gig in Arizona.

Lee and Jerrod had performed at a benefit concert for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital Tuesday prior to the bus fire.
