CHARLOTTE–A Bond Hearing  on a murder charge against a former Sanford  resident and Charlotte law student is scheduled for March 14 in Mecklenberg County.  According to WBTV in Charlotte, an initial court appearance was held Monday for 23 year old Kenan  Gay, a former UNC Chapel Hill football player.   He is charged with the Saturday night murder of 26 year old sports writer, Robert Kingston, III.   Police reports indicate the two were involved in an altercation in a bar at Ed’s Tavern when the altercation moved outside and Gay allegedly threw Kingston into the road where he was struck by a car.  Rudolf, Widenhous & Fialko will be representing Gay.  Another hearing is scheduled March 26.  Judge Karen Eady Williams denied an earlier hearing.
