Home / Local Sanford, NC News / In preparation for a ‘dry period’, a local food pantry seeks help

SANFORD-Christians United Outreach Mission (CUOC) needs food.  Teresa Dew Kellt, Manager of the mission said they have been serving so many families that the food inventory is lower than ever.  She said they have actually had to begin buying food just to assure that there is enough food for the boxes.  She said a food drive is desperately needed.  The

Postal Service annual food drive is scheduled May 12, but Dew said while they depend on those donations each year, food is needed now.  She said not many donations are received during the dry season which says is during vacations, spring and summer break, etc.  Contributions needed now include non perishable food items such as canned goods, pasta, peanut butter, breakfast cereal, and all kinds of toiletries, especially toothbrushes, toothpaste, soap, etc.  Items may be dropped off or interested persons ca call 919-774-8485
