Filing for the May Primary ended at noon Wednesday with a large number of candidates filing at the last minute. Locally, realtor David Nestor filed for one of four seats open on the Lee County Board of Education and Mark Lilly filed for one of the At-Large seats on the Lee County Board of Commissioners. The School Board race is non-partisan. The top four candidates will be declared winners in the Primary.
Local attorney Nichole Phair of the Phair Firm filed for the eleventh Judicial District judgeship seat currently held by O. Henry Willis who also filed for re-election. In neighboring Harnett County, retired Assistant Clerk of Court Effie Woodard filed to seek the post
